Bellum is not launching on Steam. Astarte Industries distributes its tactical shooter through its own website and custom launcher, so searching Steam is not the route to buying, installing, or joining the game. A future Steam release has not been ruled out, but there is no confirmed Steam release date. As of November 2, 2026, the supported purchasing route is the Bellum store, followed by its Windows PC launcher and the access attached to your edition.
That last condition matters: downloading a launcher does not by itself open every play session. Deluxe and Supporter list Closed Weekly Beta access, while Standard accounts are scheduled to join Wednesday–Sunday testing from December 3, 2026. The target for a 24/7 launch is Q1 2027. Treat distribution, your account entitlement, and the server calendar as separate checks when preparing to play.
Find the correct Bellum before downloading
The game you want is Astarte Industries' platoon-scale tactical PvP FPS, built in Unreal Engine 5 and set in a fictional fractured Africa in the 2030s. Its named factions are the Ranger Regiment, SATYR PMC, and al-Zalaam. Those details make a better identity check than a search result containing a similar word.
Mechabellum is a different game. A Steam page or activity graph for Mechabellum does not establish where this Bellum is sold, how many people are playing it, or whether your Bellum purchase should appear in a Steam library. Bellum.io, similarly named fantasy games, tabletop products, and airsoft events also lead to unrelated results.
Start from the Bellum game website and locate its Store and Launcher entries. Check that the surrounding page describes this tactical FPS and its three editions. If a result instead describes automated battles, a browser game, or a different developer, return to the game's own navigation before entering payment or account details. This identity check is especially useful when a search engine puts a familiar storefront above the developer's website.
Use the website and launcher as one access route
The website handles the purchase, and the custom launcher handles the installed game. This is the practical consequence of Bellum's launch distribution plan: the edition information you need is in Bellum's store, rather than in a Steam purchase panel.
A sensible installation sequence is:
- Open the official game website and review the current edition cards.
- Check which edition matches the test access you need.
- Complete the purchase through the official store and retain the purchase email and game key.
- Obtain the custom launcher from the official Launcher entry or the download information supplied with the purchase.
- Enter the supplied game key when the launcher requests it.
- Check for the appropriate game update before attempting to join a scheduled session.
The key belongs to this distribution process. Do not assume it is a Steam activation code simply because many other PC games use Steam. Likewise, an empty Steam library is not evidence that the Bellum purchase failed: this launch route uses a different launcher.
Older onboarding instructions describe an update prompt and a manual update check accessible through the launcher's settings control. The interface can change between builds, so follow the current launcher labels rather than expecting every button to occupy an old screenshot's position. The important result is an updated game installation associated with the correct purchase, not a particular arrangement of icons.
Keep the purchase and installation records together
Before changing installations or requesting help, keep the purchase confirmation, edition name, and any visible launcher message available. These identify different parts of the process. A download problem concerns obtaining the launcher; an activation message concerns the key or account; a closed-session message concerns timing or access. Describing the actual stage makes it easier to determine what needs checking next.
Do not post a game key in a public discussion or screenshot. If you need to show an error, capture the message and the relevant launcher state while keeping the key hidden. The useful information is what the launcher says after the attempted action.
Separate a working launcher from permission to play
A launcher can open successfully while the game remains unavailable to your account at that moment. Bellum's testing periods and edition entitlements explain that difference; reinstalling through another storefront cannot grant an edition access it does not yet have.
| Check | What you need to establish |
|---|---|
| Distribution | You are using Bellum's website and custom launcher |
| Purchase | The account or key corresponds to the edition you bought |
| Entitlement | That edition includes the current test phase |
| Timing | The session you want is actually open |
| Installation | The launcher has the game build needed for that session |
Deluxe and Supporter currently advertise Closed Weekly Beta access. The later Standard access announcement gives both existing and new Standard accounts a December 3 entry point to weekly testing. It does not turn Standard into immediate access before that milestone, and it does not turn weekly testing into an always-open service.
The announced pattern for Standard testing is Wednesday through Sunday. Confirm the individual session's opening and closing times before arranging an evening with friends; a day range does not supply an exact hour or resolve every time zone. If your friends own different editions, check each person's eligibility separately instead of assuming that owning the same launcher means everyone can enter together.

Use this example to recognize Bellum's standalone installation panel.
Read older access labels carefully
You may encounter older references to Closed Alpha, an April beta opening, or Fall 2026 Early Access. These describe earlier stages or superseded plans. For the current access milestone, use the December 3 Standard announcement and the Q1 2027 target for 24/7 availability.
Similarly, an old explanation of an experimental build is not a standing invitation to use that build whenever regular servers are closed. A different build still needs the corresponding test to be announced and available. Follow the current session instructions before switching, and make sure your friends are preparing for the same session.
Check Windows and hardware compatibility first
Bellum's published requirements describe a Windows PC game. The minimum specifies Windows 10 64-bit with the latest update; the recommended operating system is Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit. The available platform information does not establish supported macOS, Linux, or console versions.
That matters when searching for a Steam version as a shortcut to another device. The absence of Steam at launch does not provide an alternative compatibility promise, and using a different launcher does not change the game's published operating-system requirements. If your purchase depends on a specific non-Windows device working, the confirmed Windows requirements do not answer that need.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit, latest update | Windows 10 / 11 64-bit, latest update |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8600 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X; AVX2 required | Intel Core i7-10700K / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X |
| Memory | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| Graphics examples | RTX 3060 8GB / RTX 4060 8GB / RX 5700 8GB / RX 6600 8GB | RTX 2080 Ti 11GB / RTX 3080 10GB / RTX 4070 12GB / RTX 5070 12GB / RX 6800 XT 16GB / RX 7800 XT 16GB |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | SSD with 45 GB available | NVMe SSD with 45 GB available |
| Connection | Broadband Internet | Broadband Internet |
Read the storage requirement as an SSD requirement as well as a capacity figure. Read AVX2 as a processor compatibility requirement rather than assuming that any older CPU with a similar marketing label qualifies. Compare the actual components in your machine with the published list before spending time diagnosing a launcher that cannot solve a hardware mismatch.
These requirements are not a guaranteed frame rate. The game remains in development, and performance work is ongoing. A system meeting a listed configuration still needs appropriate in-game settings; the specification table alone cannot promise how a particular match will run.
Understand what the custom launcher adds
The custom launcher is also part of Bellum's match-review workflow. The latest update describes recorded matches being delivered to participants through their launcher, with a dedicated after-action viewer for reviewing the engagement. That gives the launcher a purpose beyond starting the executable.
For a player arriving from a gameplay video, this distinction can prevent confusion. A dramatic clip, a match recording, and the playable build are different things. Watching a recording does not provide a game entitlement, and receiving access to a test does not mean all future content is already implemented.
The studio's stated launch approach emphasizes direct distribution and control over the player experience. It has also left the possibility of a later Steam release open. Neither point supplies a date, a migration arrangement, or a promise that purchases will become Steam keys later. Make the purchase decision around the access offered today, rather than an assumed future storefront transfer.
Resolve the right problem before trying again
If you cannot get into Bellum, work through the process in order. First confirm the game's identity and official download route. Then confirm your edition and its current access milestone. Next check the live test announcement and update the correct build. Only after those checks should you treat the remaining launcher message as an installation or account problem.
A failed download is a different problem from an unavailable server. Earlier onboarding guidance suggests trying another browser if the launcher download link does not work; that is relevant to obtaining the file, but it cannot change weekly server availability. Likewise, downloading the game again cannot bring Standard's access date forward.
Before making another purchase, compare the edition shown in your confirmation with the edition you intended to buy. Do not assume an unofficial resale listing supplies a different activation route or that a higher tier guarantees a place in a full server. Queue priority, where listed, is an edition perk rather than an installation fix.
For a clean first session, finish the download and updates before the announced opening, retain your confirmation details, and coordinate the session with your group. Bellum's website, Windows requirements, edition entitlement, and current test calendar are the four practical checks that get you from a Steam search to the correct playable route.
